Dear Diary,
This is my last north america post for a while. they will turn into south america posts soon. Hopefully the Brazillian keyboards will have extra letters for me to use, that's always fun. I spent all day packing, it made me frazzled. These have been a frazzled couple of weeks, actually- hence the erratic posts.
This morning at costco the little boy in the cart in front of us was very sociable. He was about 3 or 4. He introduced himself as "Ryder" and then wanted to know my mom's name. His next question was, "are you happy?" well shit, how often does a preschooler ask you about your well being so bluntly? Then he asked about the lights, and about what i was doing. (I had left to get a hotdog) When his dad had finished purchasing his bulk food, Ryder told the cashier, "Those two girls are my friends." -meaning me and my mom.
Love,
Diana

Dear Diary,
I am in Seattle, if only there were a way to be several places at once. Someday, when someone invents a solution to that I'm gonna say, you know, fixing that was my idea first... I'm going to Brazil in two days. I need to unpack my entire life just to pack it back up again. Am I complaining? no. but it's a big task. What do you bring to Brazil? I'm bringing malaria meds and a bikini and that's about it. I still can't believe I'm going.
Love,
Diana
