Dear Diary,
I think that when people talk on their cell phones in the library, a librarian should come by and squirt them with a little spray bottle full of water. Maybe they could also hold up a little sign that said "leave, jerk!" It would be a humorous public way to let them know how much everyone around them wants to wring their neck. I think that once people realized what would happen to them if they talked on their phones they would stop altogether.
Today I was sitting between the library and Howard hall, where everyone sits when it is nice out, and this woman walked by with a cart full of china cups and a coffee tower. She was rolling the cart as slowly as she could, but all the cups of course toppled off and broke on the ground right when she was nearing the most crowded area. There was a big collective "Oooh..." from the crowd but then literally 14 people went over and helped her pick up everything that was broken. I got all warm and fuzzy watching that. I'm really going to miss college.

Diana

Dear Diary,
I have just received my first rejection from a company for my post graduation life. Apparently the PR firm Ketchum received 430 applicants for five positions and they aren't even going to take the time to interview me! Emotions I'm feeling right now: despair, indignation. But mostly I'm annoyed that I took the time to apply for something that my odds were so hopeless at getting, 1 to 86. I need to figure out how to stand out from the crowd here. Or is the idea that I apply for 85 more positions and then I'll get something?
I can't believe I stopped blogging for so long. There was a hole in my heart, and now it is filling up again.

Diana

Dear Diary,
I am sick of being to lazy to fix my blog, so I just threw in the towel and switched to using blogspot. I no longer have the cool www.dianafreeburg.com site, sad. I could fix that, but I found it too complicated to figure that out right now, and my guess is that my loyal fanbase will still visit my site even with a slightly more complicate URL.

Many things that have happened/are happening that I have felt it necessary to blog about in the last 7 months but haven't:

1. How in love with Barack Obama I am. (how original, white college girl!)
2. Babysitting tiny babies (so small! he smiles and i melt into a puddle. but then he scratches my face and doesn't apologize. how rude!)
3. Going to bingo. (very interesting subculture. Made friends with some seniors. Had senior citizens insist on buying the boy and I cards for bonus rounds. Much like buying a nice stranger a drink at a bar but with the added bonus of a cash possibility)
4. My obsession with craigslist and the post-college job search. (What the hell, these people want a master's degree for an admin position? screw you!)

I figure having a blog again will keep me warm on those long lonely days and nights after graduation where I don't have a job or any money, and all my friends have moved away. We'll see how it goes.

Love,
Diana
